The Hamer are an ethnic group living in the Omo Valley, a remote and culturally diverse region in southwestern Ethiopia. Hamers are distinguished by their unique hairstyles, they have braided hair covered with a mixture of ground red stone and butter. In addition, they often decorate the body with body paints and traditional ornaments. Their main sources of livelihood are agriculture and pastoralism.
